Privacy policy
Effective 26 September 2026. This policy covers this website and Condemn the Heretic, in the app and at condemn-the-heretic.fly.dev. Compline Games LLC is responsible for both.
The short version
There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. The game asks only for a nickname. Online rooms are kept for a short time and then deleted. This website sets no cookies.
On your device
The game remembers your nickname, sound and music settings, the players you muted, and your practice and Tonight’s vigil results on your device. Practice and Tonight’s vigil run entirely on your device. Deleting the app, or clearing the website’s data, removes all of this.
Playing online
When you create or join a room, the game’s server receives your nickname and gives you a random session code so you can reconnect. To run the game it handles your moves, duties, votes and council chat, and shares with the other players in your room only what the rules allow them to see. Chat goes only to the players in your room. Offensive words are masked before anyone sees them.
A room, including its chat, is deleted two hours after its last activity. Chat is also cleared at the start of every council and every new game. Like any website, our servers receive your IP address to send you pages and the game; it is not stored with your room.
Reports
If you report a message, the server records the message, the room code, both players’ nicknames and the time, so we can review it. These records are kept on the game server for 90 days, and briefly in the hosting provider’s logs. They are not used for anything else.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you.
Who hosts the game
The game server runs on Fly.io in the United States, which processes connection and log data on our behalf.
Children
Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
